EMOTIONAL HUNGER TOO

FROM THE EMOTIONALLY STARVING

“I WAS HUNGRY AND YOU FED ME”

We never know how one act of kindness is going to impact a person in need. Each week we see faces and behind each is a personal story of unfortunate circumstance. These stories often contain the heartache of emotional struggles with one’s personal value and self-worth.

At The Pantry, we value our customers. So with every bag of groceries, we take the time to give that smile… that hello… that moment of interaction letting someone know we care.

Recently we heard the story of a man who struggles emotionally, but because we provided food, his spirits were lifted. His neighbor shared:

“I just took the food from The Pantry over to our friend. He said he could not understand how people wanted to help him as he was nothing… then he smiled and said, ‘I know why they help me and you help me… we all have the same Father! Jesus!’ He was so grateful.” Cindy S.

This shift in attitude happened because people pulled together to make sure the hungry, and the hurting could experience the compassion that feeds and fills the empty places of body and soul.
