KETCHUP IS A CONDIMENT, NOT A FOOD SOURCE!

In our society, many may not be able to identify with hunger, but food insecurity is a real and significant problem.

We can easily equate fast food with the four food groups and think that consuming a kid’s meal is being well-fed. I won’t argue that the occasional cheeseburger and fries combo is the standard midweek sustenance; however, when I heard about children who were eating ketchup packets for dinner, I was shocked. Let this sink in for a minute and ask yourself, ” How does this even happen in America?” It may not be happening in your neighborhood, but it is happening! One in six children experiences food insecurity. Chances are you know a child suffering from Americanized hunger and may not even realize it.
